Established in 1976, Omex has developed into a dynamic group of companies operating throughout the world. The core competence of Omex lies in the manufacture of complex liquid formulations, particularly suspensions. These are produced from a variety of manufacturing sites: four in the UK, one in Belgium and one in North America. Extensive trials and research programmes, often in conjunction with independent organizations and universities, have allowed Omex to develop its specialist knowledge of fluid dynamics into several different industries ranging from agriculture to wastewater treatment Omex Agriculture Ltd., the original company, is the largest liquid fertiliser manufacturer in the UK and is well known for its unique Suspension Fertilisers, foliar Health Promoters and its offer to the farmer of Total Crop Nutrition. Omex Agrifluids Ltd., formed in 1993 and based at Kings Lynn, Norfolk, markets speciality fertilisers to over 40 countries around the world. New to the range are ‘Health Promoters’ which increase plant health and vigour, reducing the need for pesticides. A joint venture with the American retailer of Crop Production Inputs, Western Farm Service, has resulted in Interfarm, a company producing high quality foliar feeds and Health Promoters from Fresno, California. This in turn led to the creation of a sales and marketing operation Omex Agriculture Inc., based in Canada, to serve the Canadian market. Omex Environmental Ltd., was established in the UK to allow nutrient expertise to be applied to the treatment of wastewater. Two further developments of these technologies have resulted in products for deicing areas such as runways and road bridges, and also flame retardants for the fabrics industry. The strength of Omex lies in its distinctive culture. Its management encourages an entrepreneurial attitude ? particularly innovation from within. It is always forward looking, challenging the status quo and setting new standards in its chosen fields of expertise.
